My daughter just hit a growth spurt and grew out of her 18 month clothes. I was looking online for garage sales that were selling girl clothes and came across this one.

When I arrived, I found that they were selling high-quality girl clothes for .25-.50 cents each!!!

This is one of the BEST deals I’ve seen in my 20+ years of garage selling. The clothes were great quality and in like-new condition. garagesale3.1

The girls’ shoes were only $1.00 a pair as well—I’ve rarely seen a deal that good either.

So, I decided that I should buy almost all of the girl clothes and many of the shoes ranging from 2T-5T that they had. I did have to run to the bank for another $45.00 But when all was said and done…

I have 3 solid years of clothing (PJ’s, pants, shorts, coats, swimsuits, and shoes) for Aurora plus enough for about a half year when she is 5—all for $145.00!!!

I will sort and box up the 4T, & 5T clothing and wash and put the 2T & 3T clothing in her totes and closet.

What I thought was really cool is that the lady hosting this garage sale donated all money made to St. Jude’s charity. I quite like St. Jude’s Charity. So that was another really amazing thing about this sale!

Yesterday, I went to a yard sale to pick up a weed-eater for my lawn. I searched weed-eater in our online classifieds and found this ad.

I saw that she mentioned she was selling Lincoln Logs. I have been wanting to get Lincoln Logs for my son’s and my ‘Special Play Time’ that we have daily to work on bonding and behavior. We like to switch things up so I’m always on the hunt for interactive activities, toys, and games.

I arrived and the weed-eater was a bargain (like-new for $15.00).

The Lincoln Logs were a fair price (a 75 piece set for $5.00). I also bought some blocks ($3.00) and a wooden train set ($7.00) for ‘Special Play Time.’ Aurora got a free doll.

I found something for me as well: a vintage mirror ($15.00) for a spot I needed filled in the upstairs hallway.

I only went to one garage sale yesterday (a total of 30 minutes) and one today (about an hour) and came away saving thousands.

I have found it’s best to look/search for ads that have the things I need. I was blown away by the finds this weekend. Next on my list (when I have more time) is to start stocking up on 5T and Small boy clothes for my son. He is growing out of the 4T wardrobe I’ve found at garage sales for him.

Really, if you garage sale strategically, you can save tens of thousands a year! I do it every year. What is perhaps surprising to many is that the way I garage sale isn’t super time consuming. Read this post here to find out how.

That's an impressive amount of clothing/shoes for that price! What a great bargain! It's great that the money was going to such a wonderful cause, too.

Congratulations on your finds! This is especially helpful with younger kids. We were very fortunate that we were given hand-me-downs from very good friends of ours who had kids that were just a year or two older than ours. Anything that can save money, whether hand-me-downs or bargains at garage sales is fantastic!
