How to Put Together this Peanuts Charlie Brown Trail Mix Bar

First, I got a variety of glass jars. See the description of which ones I used in the supply list on this page.

Most are from food or purchased at thrift stores. I washed and dried them.

Then I used a variety of acrylic paint to match the characters in the Peanuts Charlie Brown.

After I got the colors about right I painted a thin first coat using foam brushes (found here) and acrylic craft paint.

After the first thin coat dried, I painted on a second coat. Peanuts Movie Trail Mix Bar

I used this image as my inspiration/template to match the paint and to create the details on each jar.

I added details of each character with black acrylic paint and a paintbrush.

Note, if you want to keep these jars for a long time (without them chipping etc.) coat the final layer with this Golden GAC 200 acrylic hardener.

Even after you have sealed it, I would recommend you hand wash the insides of the jars with soap and water and only very lightly wash the outside. I would not put these in the dishwasher as I do not know how the paint would hold up.

Then I filled the jars with Pop Secret popcorn for Sally’s curly blonde hair, Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips for Snoopy’s spots, almonds for Lionel’s sparse-looking hair, peanuts for Charlie Brown’s hair, raisins for Lucy’s dark locks, and Kellogg’s Rice Krispie treats (cut into small cubes) for Woodstock’s awesome feathers.

The Rice Krispie Treats added to this mix were very good.

The Rice Krispie Treats adds a lovely soft sweet crisp that is totally unexpected but amazingly delicious in a trail mix!

The combination of these ingredients is honestly so good.

This combo will be my go-to for future trail mixes.

If you make this Peanuts Charlie Brown Trail Mix Bar I hope you have a fun time creating and enjoying it.

If you are a Charlie Brown fan like me, check out my Peanuts Charlie Brown Fall Tablescape here.

The Peanuts Charlie Brown trail mix bar was very simple to make and once the supplies were collected, it only took me about 30 minutes to paint and put together. I hope you get to try making it as well.
