This is how to make an Eggnog Latte.

Eggnog Latte

I love eggnog in small doses and/or diluted just a tad.

I typically like to add a splash of Sprite or a little ginger ale to my eggnog.

The thought occurred to me that making an eggnog latte may taste good. I did some experimentation and loved what I came up with.

This eggnog latte is good—really good! Especially if you like a more mild eggnog flavor.

This latte strikes a great balance of a mild eggnog flavor, cinnamon, and milk.

I also made a latte with chai and cinnamon to create an eggnog chai latte and that recipe is amazing as well…maybe even better than this one if you are a fan of chai like I am.

It is simple too! The recipe only requires three ingredients and only takes a few minutes to make.

This latte is also tea-free, caffeine-free, and alcohol-free which makes it a great recipe for kids.

If you like eggnog, I highly recommend you give this recipe a try.

It is so easy to make and only takes 3-4 minutes.

Milk Frother and Steamer—Make sure it can steam and froth. The Kidisle is the one I have although they’ve updated it to look different.

To see how to make this watch the video on this page, print off the recipe card below, and/or continue reading.

1- Put 1 cup of eggnog and 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon into your frother and stir. Then put it on its heat/steam setting.

2- While your eggnog is heating/steaming, pour about 1 cup of water in your mug and put it in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds to warm up your mug. Once that is done, pour the water out and the mug will be hot. This will keep your steamed eggnog warm.

3- Pour the steamed eggnog into your mug.

4- Quickly add 1/4 C milk and 1/4 C eggnog to the frother and put it on a high froth/foam setting and pour into mug.

5- Quickly add 1/4 C milk and foam it on high. This step is unnecessary but if you’d like a distinct rim around your mug, then, use a spoon to hold back the majority of the foam while you let the thinner milk/foam pour into the middle of your mug.

Then, slowly let the rest of the foam pour into the mug. As you slowly add the foam to the latte the yellow rim will rise on the edges and leave you with that characteristic latte look.

6-Sprinkle with ground cinnamon. I just use clean fingertips and a pinch of cinnamon to get a nice sprinkle. You can use a powder shaker or fine mesh strainer if you want.

Notes- I learned this over years of making cappuccinos and lattes in a restaurant, the less fat content that is in milk the better it will foam. So, for the best foam I use skim milk. I usually just run the one cycle of foam with skim milk, but if you are using a higher fat content like 2% or whole milk and/or depending on the frother, you may need to run the high foam setting 1 and a half times. Just be careful not to run it too long as you can burn the milk. Because you are adding eggnog it is best to stick to skim milk if you can, if not its fine, you will just have less foam.

This will make one 16 oz mug or two 8 oz mugs and is a great way to tame the taste of eggnog and enjoy a warm drink.

While sprinkling the ground cinnamon may seem unnecessary and is optional, I do like the smell and the flavor of the cinnamon while I sip the eggnog latte; I wouldn’t skip it.
