Elf on the Shelf: Camouflage Poinsettia

This morning, my kids looked and looked and looked for our elves and could not find them.

Finally, about 10 minutes before school, I placed my 6 year old daughter looking straight at the elves while I did her hair. The photo below was her perspective as I did her hair.

About when I was finished, she saw them and yelled, “I found the elves!”.

My other kids came running but Amelia was being a stinker and when they asked her where they were, she said, “Oh I forgot where I saw them”.

They continued looking and then I told them, “Amelia was standing right here, looking in that direction when she saw them”.

They came over and finally the taller child saw them!

Phew, what a morning! I couldn’t believe it took them about 2 hours to find them.

In the photo below the elves are tucked into the poinsettia petals… so it is easy to understand why it took them so long to find them!

And we are usually looking in this direction (photo below) at our poinsettia plant while moving about in our home.

This must have been an easy set up for our elves Pepper Mint and Winter Mint (siblings).

They hopped in and laid still.

This large poinsettia was purchased for $16.00 at the Costco in Lehi, UT.

Thanks elves!

Merry Christmas.
