I grew up near Big Cottonwood Canyon in Utah. I lived just a few-minute walk away from the bus stop that took me to my all time favorite ski resort, Brighton.
When I was in Jr. High school we were able to buy $50 student seasons passes. I scraped together the money for a pass and for some pawn shop gear and started taking the bus up to Brighton go boarding. At first I was only able to go a few times a month but in High School I was able to arrange it with my schedule to go multiple times a week.
It quickly became a passion of mine! I was able to win some better gear by entering local competitions. It was such a positive outlet for me during that time of my life. I made a lot of friends and felt free when I was on the slopes. After High School, I often worked at ski resorts for free passes. To say I love mountains and snow is an understatement!!
I moved to Queenstown, New Zealand to ride—but little did I know the grass was not greener so to say as Utah really does have the, “Best Snow on Earth”. Utah’s powdery light snow makes for great boarding!
So for the 2024 Pulsipher Family Christmas Party, I designed this, “Oh What Fun Ski Chalet Tablescape” as a fun reminder of my snowboarding glory days.
Supplies for this Oh What Fun Ski Chalet Tablescape
A lot of the items came from a website called My Mind’s Eye and I’m not sure if they are available but if so, I purchased the
Ski Chalet runner—My Mind’s Eye
Ski Chalet plates—My Mind’s Eye
Oh What Fun napkins—My Mind’s Eye
pine tree candy cups—My Mind’s Eye
I got the crystal cups and white plates from Costco
The Mini gingerbread houses came from World market
The centerpiece cut out trees came from a set I had in a bin from my son’s Woodland Birthday Party I did a few years ago.
Silverware came from Sam’s Club.
I already had some of the items that I used for the tablescape. Some I purchased. Total it cost about $50.
I usually use our china for Christmas but this was fun and laid back; our guests really enjoyed it, as did I.
