This 4th of July is the Semiquincentennial (aka 250th anniversary) of the United States of America!
We are celebrating each day with a different 4th of July tablescapes for dinner, many activities, and this traditional decor.
This year to celebrate this landmark occasion, I wanted to decorate with items that may have been available to our early Patriots.
This 4th of July Traditional Mantel reminds me of something that someone may have had on their mantel 250 years ago.
From the copper vases, to the burlap flags on sticks to the wooden block fireworks, simple star banner, dried flowers, and woven throw blanket—
these items could have all been used to decorate for America’s birthday 250 years ago!
It has been a nice traditional look to have in our home.
Decorating this mantel only took about 20 minutes.
It was very simple to put together.
I had the copper vases on hand. I set them on both ends filled with sola wood flowers (died red and blue) and dried baby’s breath. I bought two bundles from Smith’s food and Drug store.
Then I added four Liberty Burlap Flags in each vase from Pottery Barn.
I added wooden block fireworks as the centerpiece.
Then I hung a star banner from both ends. I secured the banner using painters tape and the weight of the vases.
To finish the look off, I added an American flag throw blanket I had on hand.
It cost less than $75 and was a fun traditional look to have in our home for the 4th of July!
