Neighbor Christmas Gift: Candy Cane Tin.
Nothing is more iconic of Christmas candy than the candy cane.
Candy canes make a timeless and fun Christmas gift—especially for those who have children.
They come in many delicious flavors and outrageous flavors—I’ve even seen Twinkie, pickle, and salad-flavored candy canes!
There are a lot of crazy color combination options as well.
Candy canes are great for adorning Christmas trees, for use as accents on tables (check out my Candy Cane Christmas tablescape), and for eating.
This candy cane tin is another one of my time-saving classy neighbor Christmas gifts for around $2.00.
These gifts can be put together in under a minute each, and are festive, bright, and yummy.
If you do assemble a gift like this, I’d recommend using a few different flavors and color variations in the gift to mix it up.
Additionally, I’d recommend choosing colors of candy canes that look good together and match the tin.
While candy canes shot up in price this year (2023), by finding a sale I was able to keep this gift around the $2.00 mark that I have for Christmas neighbor gifts (see the cost breakdown below).
Supply list for this Neighbor Christmas Gift: Candy Cane Tin
Tin- The ribbon comes built into the top of these Dollar Tree tins. The dimensions are: 9×3.25×1.5-in.
Candy Canes- I put 9 candy canes in the tin and one on top.
Cost Breakdown for this Neighbor Christmas Gift: Candy Cane Tin
Tin with a ribbon on the top Dollar Tree = $1.25 for each gift
Candy canes- Normally, candy canes are well under .10 each however, this year, 2023, they have been much more expensive, even over .30 each!
I read that candy manufacturers have been hit hard with supply and work shortages. Maybe 2024 will show lower prices for these.
Wrapped candy canes stay good for years so I would grab a bunch at the after-Christmas sales and store them if you want to gift something like this the following Christmas.
The cheapest I could find candy canes this year is at Smith’s on sale at $1.00 a box. Which is a very good price for them this year!
I got mine at Smith’s for .08 cents each candy cane x 9 in the tin and a 10th on the outside = .80 cents for each gift.
The total for this gift should normally be well under $2.00 each. However, it was only by finding a good sale at Smith’s that I could get it close to $2.00.
The total for this gift = $2.05 each.
