Valentine’s Day Conversation Heart Plushies
These felt plushies are easy to make and are a great craft for Valentine’s Day.
They are made to look like Valentine’s Day conversation heart candies and cookies.
My nine-year-old daughter and I love sewing and making felt plushies.
She received a few of these Klutz Sew craft kits for Christmas. We’ve made about 30 of them and they turned out so cute.
So, even though I didn’t have a pattern to go off of for these Valentine’s Day Conversation Heart Plushies, I found them very easy to create.
Any sewer (beginning or experienced) should be able to make these.
They would make great Valentine’s gifts for children or decorations for Valentine’s Day.
They are easy and inexpensive and only take a few supplies.

How to Make These Conversation Heart Plush
Continue reading and/or watch the video on this page to see how to make these plushies.
1- Trace a heart on both light brown and colored felt and cut it out. I used light pink, blue, yellow, purple, and green.
2- Flip the side that you marked upside down so that the pencil marks are hidden on the inside.
3- Thread a regular sewing needle or embroidery needle with 10 gram thread. If you have a lighter thread you can double it up. If you have embroidery thread you can take it down by splitting it apart into just two threads.
4- Starting by threading from the back, take just the top heart felt and sew the words you’d like to have on the conversation heart.
I put the words: Love, Yes, Be Mine, Hugs, and XO XO on my hearts.
I went over each stitch two to three times to make the words thicker so that they would stand out more. When finished, tie off and cut the string.
5- Put the brown heart on the back of the colored heart, you may need to thread your needle with more string. Go along the edges sewing both the top and bottom hearts together using a running stitch—until you have gone 3/4 the way around the heart. Stop sewing.
6- Stuff the heart with poly-fil. I like to stuff these with enough poly-fil to make them able to squish, but not too full or there won’t be enough give.
7- After the heart is filled, finish your edge running stitch. When you come back to the beginning stitch, tie it off.
That’s it. While simple, cute, and inexpensive, they do take a bit of time; each heart took me about 30-40 minutes to make.
These Valentine’s Day Conversation Heart Plushies are a fun and cute craft for Valentine’s Day.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
