This Berry Heart Wreath in a Vintage Frame is simple yet darling decoration. You can place it on a mantel or hang it on a wall or door.
I have used one for a door wreath a few years ago and I used two this year for either side of my Valentine’s Day Mantel.
These are especially easy to make if you buy the red berry heart wreath already assembled.
If you want to make the wreath yourself, you would purchase a grapevine heart wreath and artificial red berry stems. You’d also need a hot glue gun to secure the stems to the wreath and/or craft wire.

Note that in the video below, I was using my husband’s work pliers which are a wire cutter and plier in one.
Screwdriver, regular
Optional- Door hanger if you want to display this as a wreath. You can use a sawtooth picture frame mount to display this on a wall. I displayed one frame on a stack of books and the other on an amish style candle jar wrought iron stand.
How to Assemble a Berry Heart Wreath in a Vintage Frame
- Either buy a pre-made berry heart wreath or take a heart shaped grapevine wreath and add artificial berries to it. You can secure the artificial berries with a hot glue gun or wreath/craft wire.
- Find a vintage frame with an opening that is about the same size or slightly smaller than the heart wreath. Take the back and glass out of the frame.
- Get heavy wire and run it through the back of the berry heart wreath. Secure both ends to either side of the frame. I just used the sawtooth mount bracket or the mat anchors (see video below for more details). It helps to pre-bend the wire when fishing it through the mat mounting hardware. Once through, bend the wire back over, twist the end of the wire around the straight wire strand and clamp them together with pliers.
- Turn the frame over and arrange the wreath in the frame as desired.
- Display it. You can use a door wreath hanger to hang the wreath on the door, or a wall frame mount to hang it on a wall. Alternatively, you could set the frame on a stack of vintage books or hang it from a candle stand as I did on my Valentine’s Day mantel.
What I love about this craft is that it is versatile and easily assembled and disassembled. You can use the vintage frames for other decor during the time of year that you aren’t using it for this.
