My daughter and I made this Cheese & Tomatoes Mushroom Display for a Woodland Party.
Our guests loved this little display. They caught on immediately that it was supposed to represent mushrooms growing on a log on the forest floor.
It was very easy to put together. My eight-year-old was so excited to help me make this.
It was also yummy to eat.

How to put together this Cheese & Tomatoes Mushroom Display for a Woodland Party
Looking at it, one can probably figure out how to make it, but in case you want a tutorial, check out the video and/or continue reading.
First, cut a ciabatta loaf into small slices so that when someone picks up a mushroom the bread comes with.
Next, cut 1/4 off of a cherry or grape tomato and using a serving toothpick, stick it through the 3/4 tomato and a small cut of string cheese.
Stick those on the loaf of ciabatta.
I liked to vary the size and height of the tomatoes so that it looked more authentic to a log growing mushrooms.
The very end of the loaf may need to be secured by an additional toothpick sideways to prevent the ends from falling. Also using small bits of cheese and small tomatoes for the end pieces helps to keep the loaf intact until it starts getting eaten.
That’s it. It only took us a few minutes to make this and the impact on the food table was really noticeable. I’d highly recommend doing this for a woodland-themed party.
