Elf on the Shelf: Christmas Candy Dive
Our elves, Peppermint Mint and Winter Mint (siblings) went on a Christmas candy dive today.
I had hosted book club this day and made this Christmas candy dessert board.
They took what was left of it as well as the candy that was left over in the original candy bags and more candy they found around the house and went snorkeling in it.
Apparently Winter was after a very particular candy as she dove with a scoop net.
Pepper went on a quick snorkel and then climbed out on his donut raft
and got to eating his catch of the day…
candy canes; apparently these are his favorite.
You can tell he was eating them as his face is all sticky with red and green sugar.
It was clear Pepper had just got done diving
as he had his snorkel mask in his hands
and he had his flippers on as well.
Winter was in the midst of her dive.
She was using her snorkel gear but needed a longer spout,
so she is using a strawberry Haribo licorice straw to improvise.
Winter has a hand snorkel net in one hand.
It looks as though she has successfully caught a pretty-looking Old Fashion Christmas cut rock candy.
I love that Pepper is just chilling on the top in his donut raft and that Winter is in the middle of a dive.
I also love that the crushed peppermint bits settled on the bottom of the vase and it looks like coral/sand.
The vase was so full some candy even spilled out
This was such a vibrant and festive scene.

Directions on how I think our elves put together this scene, Elf on the Shelf: Christmas Candy Dive
Continue reading and/or watch the video on this page to see the assembly.
1- They dumped crushed peppermint candy cane bits into the bottom of my very large glass vase to make it look like the ocean floor (sand/coral).
2- They put a few more items in the bottom of the vase.
3- They extended the Barbie snorkel mask to fit Winter’s head using a dab of hot glue and the mini fake candy cane. They also used a dab of hot glue to attach the scoop net to winter’s hand and a cut rock candy was hot glued inside the scoop net.
4- They attached a Haribo licorice straw to the spout of Winter’s snorkel mask.
5- Winter got into the vase and she held still while candy was filled in around her to the very top and even spilled over a bit.
6- Pepper sat in his donut raft and with a snorkel mask in his arms and snorkel fins on his feet. He was holding a bunch of fake mini candy canes in his hands with the help of illusion cord.
That’s it. It looked like this scene took about 30 mins to set up.
Thank you for the fun scene that my children really loved Winter and Pepper!
