This Pear Avocado Salad with Feta Cheese is one of my most favorite salads ever!

It is so good that I actually get cravings for it!

This salad has a genius mixture of flavors that range from tangy to sweet to salty, and it is full of textures: smooth, crisp, crunchy, and juicy.

This pear avocado salad truly is “blow your mind” good.

Pear Avocado Salad With Feta Cheese layered

It is simple to make and comes together quickly. If serving for guests I would recommend making the dressing a few hours before and assembling the salad right before serving.

The dressing tastes amazing fresh, but if allowed time to blend, it does taste even better.

Do not cut the avocado or pears until just before you serve (to prevent browning). Of course make sure the pear and avocados are ripe for the best taste possible.

This salad is best when served layered neatly and not tossed. You can toss it but it will be a much better presentation if you serve it layered. This is because pears and avocado tend to fall apart and get messy when tossed.

Ingredients for Pear Avocado Salad With Feta Cheese

3 ripe pears – peeled, cored and chopped

1 head leaf lettuce (romaine or mixed green), torn into bite-size pieces

5 ounces feta cheese (you can also use gorgonzola or blue), crumbled

1 ripe avocado, pitted and sliced

1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions

1/2 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped

2/3 cup olive oil

6 tablespoons red wine vinegar

3 1/2 teaspoons white sugar

3 teaspoons prepared mustard (use dijon for extra tang)

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper or to taste
