I’ve always struggled with making the perfect cookie! Either they were too cake-like, too gooey, or too salty. I’ve searched high and low for a reliable cookie and I finally found it! I’m not alone in this opinion either! This recipe has over 6,000 reviews and 5 stars! If you are in the same boat, look no further…
I found it via Allrecipes.com (I’ll link to it at the bottom).
Basically, it creates an amazing cookie with slightly crispy edges and moist chewy centers. It is very versatile (in fact I’m already planning on using it to make toffee bits cookies, snickers cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and more).
I didn’t make any changes to the base and it turned out AMAZING! However, I did switch the chocolate chips and nuts out for craisins and white chocolate chips. It turned out so delicious I actually was proud to take some around to neighbors (before I am always hesitant to make cookies for others because my cookies weren’t perfect).
Makes 4 Dozen
Prep time 20 minutes
Bake Time 10 minutes
Ready in 1 hour
Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla (I always use Mexican vanilla extract—it’s seriously the best!),
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups white chocolate chips
1 ¼ C craisins
Directions-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Cream together white sugar, butter, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Dissolve baking soda into hot water stir into batter. Stir in vanilla and salt.
Spoon flour into a measuring cup (this avoids it from being too packed and having too much flour). Pour in 1 cup at a time and stir well. Stir in white chocolate chips and craisins.
Roll dough into walnut sized balls, place on cookie sheet (12 total per sheet).
Bake for 9-12 minutes depending on altitude and whether you have a gas or electric oven. At nine minutes begin checking the cookies. As soon as they have light brown-barely brown edges all the way around each one take them out. Let them sit on a cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes then move them to a rack to cool.
There you have it, an amazing BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe ever!

These remind me of the Starbucks Cranberry Bliss Bars - but probably slightly easier to make! Thanks for sharing at Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop!
