Our elves set up their wash on a bunting hanging off of our mantel.
Maybe they wanted to dry their clothing by our fireplace.
I guess elves have to do laundry as well.
They hopped in for a surprisingly fun clothesline scene.
How I think our elves set up this Elf on the Shelf: Clothesline scene
They set up the garland on our mantel using flat stocking holders to hold it up.
Then they climbed into the clothing that was already being held up on the clothesline.

Elf clothesline Garland (I bought this from Michael’s and they dug it out of my Christmas bin. It is the 6ft Ashland garland—I see the Santa one is still in stock). You may be able to find it on eBay or Mercari.
Stocking holders (flat) I used three on each side
You may have noticed a tiny Elf on the Shelf in the mitten. It is my daughter’s 18″ doll (American Doll) Elf on the Shelf (try eBay if you want one). She often sticks her mini doll into the scenes with our elves, Pepper Mint and Winter Mint.
