Today our elves set up a Where’s Waldo scene using our Santa Christmas Tree.
Our elf, Winter, hid in our Santa Themed Christmas Tree and the other, Pepper, was searching for her using a mini magnifying glass.
How I think our elves set up with Elf on the Shelf Where’s Waldo scene.
They took a Where’s Waldo book and wrote out Winter in Red marker on a white piece of paper and taped it over the Waldo on the front of the book.
Then Winter got in elvish clothing with classic Where’s Waldo red and white striped pants and hid in the Christmas tree.
Pepper got a mini magnifying glass and was searching for her.
That’s it. It looks like it was pretty simple to set up.
My kids had fun searching for Winter and it actually took each one about a minute or two to find her which was fun for us.

Red marker, white paper, tape
ELF white red stripe Clothing for Winter (the clothing for Winter came from the Ashland elf clothes line discontinued- try Ashland Santa clothesline at Michaels or Ebay or mercari)
