I created this White Winter Tablescape for an early Christmas dinner we had with some of my husband’s family.

This tablescape was easy to put together. I used what I had on hand which saved me time shopping and money.

The guests who attended dinner remarked that they really liked the table set up and thought it was very pretty.

What I try to do when setting up tablescapes is to pick a theme, style, and color palette.

For this White Winter Tablescape, I wanted to use white, gold, and natural browns (burlap, pine cones, etc).

I also wanted to create a modern-elegant style; and of course the theme was winter. Some people get really fancy with their tablescapes and pack the table with a lot of items and it can turn out to be very impressive.

At times I also like to decorate with a lot of items on a tablescape as well.

However, for this look, I was going for a modern-elegant minimalistic style. I felt that I achieved it and was overall happy with many aspects of this white winter tablescape.

5 aspects of this White Winter Tablescape I am happy about:

First, it was free; I just used what I had on hand.

Second, it was easy to put together; it took me less than 30 minutes to set the table.

Third, it left space for food; there is still plenty of room for the food to go on the table.

Fourth, the decor does not block the line of sight for any of the guests; this is a very important aspect to consider when setting a table.

and Fifth, the items and colors used tied together with a theme, style, and color scheme.

Supply List for a White Winter Tablescape

Gold metallic foil placemats here or similar here

modern silverware

modern goblets

white china (Noritake)

DIY Winter Napkin Rings

White tablecloth

white napkins

White porcelain deer. My grandma gave me this set years ago. However, I found many sets for sale on eBay when I wrote this. If you’d like this exact set, search eBay or Google shopping for: Traditions 3 piece porcelain deer family gold accents

Flocked branches with pinecones and burlap accents. I bought this years ago at a craft store and just keep it in my Christmas storage bins. I couldn’t find anything similar online. However, you could take this pinecone garland and flock it with fake snow. Or any heavily flocked garland and add bits of burlap and brown pinecones to resemble what I used if desired.

How to Assemble a White Winter Tablescape

Start with an ironed white tablecloth (obviously do not iron on a wood surface)

Add gold placemats

Set table with white china/plates and modern goblets and silverware. A trick I learned working in fine-dinning is to polish the silverware and goblets with hot steam or hot water using a polyester napkin.

Add napkin rings and napkins to each plate

Then add the flocked garland to the center of the table.

Place the deer in the way you think looks best.

That’s it!

That is all it took to create this White Winter Tablescape. See, it was simple and easy. I hope this helps you create a modern-elegant tablescape this winter as well.
