Pampas and Red Heart Valentine Front Door Decor
I like to decorate for holidays but I also typically like to decorate in an elegant way.
It is a challenge to make Valentine’s Day elegant—especially when it comes to front door decor. Many store bought items are loud and even a bit gaudy.
I did my best this year to keep it simple and tasteful. I am happy with the results.
This front door decor was easy to create (taking less than an hour) and relatively inexpensive (costing less than $100).
Here’s how…
How to Create this Pampas and Red Heart Valentine Front Door Decor
Make the wreath and hang it from the front door, the tutorial can be found here.
Lay out an industrial black mat.
Next, make the coir Valentine’s Day doormat and place that on top, the tutorial can be found here.
Place two tall planters on either side of the door. I’ve stuffed these planters with left over grocery sacks and packaging paper so that they hold things easily.
Place three tall stems of white pampas in each of the the planters pots.
I positioned the pampas stems so that they came together in the front of the planter.
Place four sprigs of Valentine’s white and red berries in both planters as well. I positioned them so that all four sprigs met in the middle but two went out of the planter in the opposite direction as the other two sprigs. This filled out the corners of my front door area which I liked.
That’s it.
The doormat only took about 20 minutes to make (although it did take a night to dry) and the wreath only took about 20 minutes to make as well.
The other decor came together in about 10 minutes.
So, for under an hour I was able to make this Valentine’s Day front door decor.

2 tall metal planters (I bought these for $20 each on classifieds and have had them for many years; I’ve linked to similar here)= had
6 Pampas grass branches. I purchased these from World Market when they were on sale with a coupon they were about $13.00 a stem. I’ve had them in my office, however, this is the first time I’ve used them for a project so I’m including the total here.= $78.00

Total for this front door decor= $89.00. Normally, I don’t spend as much however, I know I will use and reuse the pampas grass so it was worth it for me to buy.
