I usually try to do a different Christmas mantel each year. Last year (2019), I made this Santa Themed Mantel and fireplace scene that I really liked.

I thought I’d share it before I share my 2020 Christmas Red Truck and Camper Themed Mantel.

In 2019, I wanted to match my Santa Themed Christmas Tree found here. So, I decided to make a very traditional Santa Themed Mantel and fireplace surround.

Supply List for a Santa Themed Mantel

A variety of Santa Clauses:

Räuchermänner,

Wood stand-up Santas,

Santa Nutcrackers,

Cone-style Santa Claus

Santa Figurines

Pine garland-Take two garland pieces from Hobby Lobby I used number CSWG304 Sku#-5200654 they are 48 inches long. If you can’t find them feel free to use something similar like 2 of these garland pieces here.

Twinkle star lights battery operated

DIY Jute Christmas Trees

Traditional Red stockings

Gold stocking holders

I have collected these Santas over the past ten years or so years. Many of them I found on their own and just grouped the most similar together.

An interior design rule is to group decor items together in odd numbers; groups of 3, 5, 7, etc. it is pleasing on the eye to group things in this manner.

I grouped my Santas in groups of three on the mantel and then lined up the other Santas I have on either side of the fireplace in groups of five.

So, I had a group of three tall and three small Santas on the right side of the mantel.

Then I put two runners of pine and cranberry across the mantel under the TV. I added twinkle lights (battery operated).

I added three stockings (one for each child) and gold stocking holders (in a Santa, a candy cane, and a Christmas Tree) to hang the stockings.

Next, I added these D.I.Y. Jute Christmas trees as a backdrop for my Räuchermänner (German wood smokers that smoke out burning incense).

I bought the Räuchermänner while I lived in Germany. I have a German Christmas tree with German Christmas ornaments off to the side of the mantel to tie it all together you can see that here.

Next, I set 5 Santas on each side of the fireplace.

I have a mixture of wood, inner-cone-style, and stuffed Santas so I staggered them every other one.

That’s it! It was very simple and easy to put together (mainly because I had everything I needed for it). I got a lot of compliments on my Santa Themed Mantel as well.

I felt all of the decor: the German Christmas tree, and Santa Themed Christmas Tree and Santa Themed Mantel all tied together seamlessly.

I hope this gives you an idea of how to decorate a Santa Themed Mantel as well.
