Elf on the Shelf: Rewind 80’s Dollhouse
Our elves flashed back to the past with a fun rewind retro scene that took place in my daughter’s dollhouse.
A while ago I purchased a few of these Rewind Barbies for under $10 each (I know, it was such a great deal).
I have been storing them to gift to my girls someday.
Our elves had other plans.
They found them, broke them out of their boxes, and set up a fun Rewind 80’s dollhouse scene today.
Those stinkers, although my daughters were both ecstatic about the new Barbies and accessories… so it turned out great in the end.
It matches their own 80’s retro outfits.
They made it even more fun by bringing food that was popular in the 80’s.
They brought take out from the restaurant TGIFridays (we say, “Thank goodness it’s Friday”, in our home)—fun fact, it just so happened to be Friday when they set up this scene.
And they purchased the drinks and desserts from the Hard Rock Cafe.
Barbie brand did a great job with these 1980 era dolls.
I love workout Barbie’s outfit,
dumb bells, step stool, and duffle bag.
She could be a model in the Jane Fonda or the Richard Simmons Sweatin’ to the Oldies workout shows.
Her hair, ear rings, hairband… amazing.
Career Barbie is also very fun.
I love her outfit and that it matches her brief case.
There are spread sheets, a calculator, and a brick cell phone in the scene…
but no computer. Perhaps, the desk wasn’t big enough to fit the huge box computers we had in the 80’s.
Musician barbie is so ‘rad’.
I think she is my favorite.
She has crimped hair, braided hair, bangs, and a bow all in one do!
She reminds me a lot of one of my best friends who plays keys, sings, is beautiful, and has an amazing sense of style.
I did have to Google if socks with heels were a thing in the 80’s and I was a bit taken aback when I saw that they were.
Fingers crossed that fashion trend does not make a comeback.
I love a lot of details in this scene.
Pepper and Winter were just eating and chilling
a bit boring to their Barbie counter-parts if I’m being honest.
They were apparently talking on the phone
and listening to music.
So, that was cute.

How I think our elves put together this scene, Elf on the Shelf: Rewind 80’s Dollhouse
1- They took the dollhouse in my daughter’s colorful Boho room and moved it to the part of the room where we get the most sun in the winter.
2- Pepper got dressed in his no sew hat, sunnies, retro 80’s shirt, and snowboard pants.
3- Winter got dressed in her retro 80’s shirt and gold skirt.
4- They stopped by TGIF’s and Hard Rock for some take out.
5- They shared with the Barbies that they had found in my “Gifts to Give” Storage tote and set free.
6- The Barbies got to the 80’s style activities and the elves sat back, ate, and relaxed.
Thanks for a flash to the past…
