How to Create This Halloween Witch-Themed Mantel
Surprisingly, I had everything in my home that I decorated this Witch-Themed mantel with. Here is a breakdown of what I collected and used to decorate.
- I placed black material on the mantel. I bought it at Walmart years ago for this Ninja Party. I placed it so it would swoop in a half circle.
- I wanted to add height on both sides using witch hats. I had these in my Halloween decorations bin.
- I had, squash, pumpkins and gourds that I had from a farm food share. I placed them on the mantel in random groupings.
- I also had the treasure chest from this mermaid party.
- I added the small vials filled with spices I had from this Just Add Magic Party. However, I got them from Dollar Tree and some from Amazon.
- I bought the skeleton banner from Dollar Tree a few years ago (in fact it is about 4 banners put together).
7. I had a large book that looked like it could have been a potion book.
8. I made potion vials out of large amber vials I had bought previously from Amazon.
I labeled the vials using Halloween scrapbook paper I had. I just searched for good images
I coated the front of the vial with Mod Podge and foam brush.
I placed the paper on the vial and coated it with Mod Podge.
I let it dry and gave it a second coat of mod podge.
Then I placed them randomly on the mantel.
9. I broke up dollar tree candles and using a lighter I burned them down a bit so they were varying sizes and had wax dripping down the sides.
10. I had the little witch broom, Haunted house, incense and vase, spider web, cauldron and placed those up on the mantel in ways that I thought looked good.
11. I had a little diary that I thought looked very witch-like. I painted it a burgundy-brown because it was originally a bright purple. I love the detail on this book cover and the leather tie and silver knob.
12. A few days before decorating this mantel, I took some red fall leaves and spray painted them (so that as they dried they would hold their shape).
It worked well. I placed those around on the mantel.
I am really pleased with how my Halloween Witch-Themed Mantel turned out. I was also very fun to bring together.
If you want to make one as well, I hope that this helps give you ideas for creating your own Witch-Themed mantel as well.
