Elf on the Shelf: Snowboard Tow.
I love to snowboard! So our elves, Winter Mint, and Pepper Mint made my day today.
I used to snowboard multiple times a week and at one point, before I blew out both of my knees, I was an amateur competitor.
Some of my favorite moments of snowboarding were with friends in the backcountry in places that we could only access via snowmobiles.
We’d tow one another around using a ski rope and it was so much fun!
If you have never done this before, I’d highly recommend putting it on a bucket list!
Today, Pepper is on his sled
and is towing Winter on her board.
Winter is gripping the tow rope
which is hooked to the snowmobile
She’s in so much powder
she is having to lean back to stay afloat on the powder.
I like a lot of the details of her dress.
She has some nice gloves, a hat, and goggles.
I mentioned that I absolutely loved it when Winter and Pepper rode our tub as a halfpipe last year.
In that post, I also mentioned how amazing it was that they had realistic-looking boards, boots, and bindings.
Winter is wearing her boots with the boa lacing this day as well… although it looks like she stole Pepper’s board.
Maybe they were taking turns riding?
I’m really getting into this aren’t I? Haha—love it.
Pepper is decked out in his Santa coat and his ear muffs, goggles (Dragon), and scarf. I love this scarf because it makes it look like they are moving/there is motion.
I also like the wreath on the sled… what a cute detail.
We first saw Pepper using this sled in the #shredthesled Elf on the Shelf: snowmobiling scene a few years ago.
These elves like to reuse and repurpose which is fun and I bet saves them a lot of time!
The supplies that I think our elves used to set up this scene, Elf on the Shelf: Snowboard Tow
gold rope- it came from this A Christmas Carol: Elf on the Shelf scene
Barbie-sized rolling pin
paint (pewter grey) and foam brush to paint the snowboard
stuff to make goggles, earmuffs, and a scarf
Dragon goggle logo printed to a tiny scale (to print this Google Dragon Google logo and print at ~5-10% scale)
giant green pipe cleaner/chenille stem
green felt (pompom backing)
green glitter pom pom cut in half
I got the snowmobile at Target 2021 as part of their Wondershop red truck line.
Miniature Santa Suits (Santa Suit Pick by Ashland) These are a great fit for Elf on the Shelf …I would look on eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, etc. if they no longer sell them at Michael’s.
How I think our elves set up this scene, Elf on the Shelf: Snowboard Tow
The faux snow and flocked trees were already set up from their snowshoeing scene the other day. So that was already there.
Pepper got into his sled and donned his Santa coat, goggles, ear muffs, and scarf.
Winter hooked up the ski rope to the back of the sled (hot glue maybe?) and it looked as though a Barbie-sized rolling pin was hot glued on to the rope as a handle.
She got into her gear, strapped into her board using some hot glue and floral wire, leaned back so that the Santa coat pick would help her stay upright and her beanie put some pressure on the flocked tree behind her for additional support.
And then she probably yelled, “Hit it!”
I know I’ve mentioned this a few times, but my daughter loves our elves.
She enjoyed just sitting and staring at this scene. Eventually, she said it looked like they were really snowboarding and snowmobiling!
Thanks again Winter and Pepper for a fun day.
