In order to stick with any new change of behavior, scientists have found that we must do it for 21 days. After 21 days of consistently doing something the human brain and body anticipate it and often start doing the action willingly or habitually.
Just like tracking calories helps one to know and make wise decisions on what to eat, tracking expenditures helps one to make wise choices on what to spend.
Challenge #24 is to pull up and look at the financial plan you created for Challenge #9. Now look at the various categories that change month-to-month (groceries, eating out, clothes, entertainment, fuel, etc.) and start tracking all expenditures made in those categories. When you get close to the limit you set stop spending so you don’t go over your budget.
